My first review is going to be on the Dualit Coffee Grinder.
I bought it some three months ago, on-line from John Lewis. Prior to purchasing I did some research and decided to go for the Dualit machine. It was well recommended by other user it’s not looking that ugly and it wasn’t ridiculous expensive.
I will say from the start it does work well. Haaaaa, here come the but, there are few problem with it.
It seems as if only the young ones drinking freshly ground coffee. You can barely see the marking on the Dosing Control knob and because of that you can never be sure for the amount of coffee you are going to grind. Is it on the marking three or ten? Well you need to fetch your glasses but this is a deferent story.
The other problem which is more disturbing is that after two and a half month of grinding coffee, probably once every other day, a hairline crack appears on the Ground Container Lid.
I did contact John Lewis and they asked me to bring or to send the machine to the nearest JL branch. As it is the nearest branch to my place is two and a half hours by car or good few pounds to send by post. So we settle to send only the lid, so I guess I will grind one kilo of the good stuff and will send the lid.
And lastly, some friend of mine left in my house bag of coarsely ground coffee. It was to coarse for using in my espresso making machine so tried to give it a further grind in the Dualit, but the coarse coffee powder didn’t free fell in to the grinding burr and i ad to shake the machine to help it flow.
I wander what will happen with the broken lid? But I keep you up dated.
